1st Shift Chemical Operator job in Tulsa
Will train on days 7am-7pm for approximately 2 months. Position moves to nights 7pm-7am. $13/hr Primary Responsibilities/Duties: Transfer materials into and out of process equipment, drums, bags, tankers, railcars or other containers. Control equipment systems that process chemical substances into specified products. Monitor and record reactions, noting changes in chemical and physical properties and compositional changes of substances. Control or operate chemical processes or systems of machines, using panelboards, control boards, or semi-automatic equipment. Measure, weigh and mix chemical ingredients according to specifications. Maintains safe and clean working environment. Must maintain a regular and reliable level of attendance. Perform other duties and responsibilities as directed by management. Experience in a batch type chemical manufacturing facility or other industrial plant experience is preferred. Position has a lifting requirement of 65 lbs. from the knees and waist. Must have adequate eye sight in order to inspect and describe reactions. The ability to wear a respirator while performing certain job functions is essential. Mechanical aptitude. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations. Ability to read and interpret routine instructions. Ability to drive forklift. Ability to use an impact wrench and other similar tools. Ability to wear safety equipment including respirators, safety shoes, goggles, gloves and fully encapsulating protective suit. Must have high school diploma or equivalent. Will be required to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
